Ride through Downtown San Diego’s Historic Gaslamp Quarter, and listen to stories of its dicey past, then head up the hill into Banker’s Hill and stop at Balboa Park.  You will enjoy lush gardens, musicians, and museums.  Then it’s off to Old Town to visit California’s first schoolhouse, an adobe-built hacienda, and the specialty shops.  Enjoy lunch at one of the many festive Mexican restaurants.

This sightseeing tour starts in the heart of San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter.  Drive through 5th Avenue where modern day shops, restaurants, and bars takeover what used to be the early 20th century’s red light district, The Stingaree.

You will then head up toward Banker’s Hill and cross over the Cabrillo Bridge and into Balboa Park, home of over 15 museums, lush gardens, and the World Famous San Diego Zoo.  Stop in the heart of Balboa Park and your guide will walk you to some of the park’s major attractions, and fill you in on the story of the park’s beginnings.

Board the bus and head on a scenic route on California’s oldest highway toward Old Town, the birthplace of California.  You will feel as if you stepped back in time as your guide guides you through colorful Old Town.  Visit Heritage Park, California’s first schoolhouse, , the old cemetery, an iconic haunted hose, an adobe-built hacienda, and the specialty shops ranging from an old candle shop, to a Native American silver jewelry shop.

You’re free to roam around and enjoy an authentic Mexican lunch in one of Old Town’s delicious restaurants.  Or, follow your guide to one of our favorite restaurants where you will enjoy food and drink specials.  Taste the margaritas, hand-made tortillas, and sit back and relax as you take in the distant sounds of mariachis playing.
