Experience a quality living museum at the Chula Vista Nature Center. With trained and enthusiastic docents leading the way, guests explore the 316-acre wildlife refuge. An eye-opening experience that includes learning about California wildlife such as seahorses, lizards, rattlesnakes and the inspiration for coastal resource conservation.  Get a hands-on look at the small animals that once roamed bay, marshlands and the dessert waterfront before settlers arrived in the late 1800′s.

Your group will have access to behind-the-scenes exhibits to experience feeding the animals, touching stingrays, coming face to face with a leopard shark, sea turtles, and Great Horn Owls.

Walk along the trails for views of Coronado and Downtown San Diego from the south, a rare view for those who never visit the Nature Center.

The drive down to the Nature Center will have you passing Downtown San Diego, Chicano Park, the iconic Coronado Bridge, Nassco Shipyard and into South Bay; a nearly untouched conservatory surrounded by a small marina, private shipyards, and the majestic salt ponds of the South Bay Salt Works.  Learn about the history of San Diego and the industrial area that was once occupied by a kelp processing plant, a cottonseed oil company, farmland, and the set to the popular movie; “The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes”.

After the nature experience, guests are transported to the nearby South Bay Fish and Grill to fill up on fine dining cuisine. This venue is adjacent to the Chula Vista marina and offers breathtaking views of South Bay.  Nautical antiques and yacht racing memorabilia add to the ambience as carefully prepared foods are brought to the table.  Taste popular dishes such as Teriyaki Mahi Mahi, and other fresh seafood as you relax on the marina.  Sip on their fare of specialty cocktails and California wines while a live band plays for you in the background.

Custom tasting menus, wine tastings, cooking demonstrations and cooking classes may be accommodated to provide you with an interactive lunch options for your group.  Just ask us about it!

This group tour is customizable in so many ways.  Additional ideas include, but are not limited to:  ghost tour of the Hotel del Coronado, Coronado Ferry Landing, tour of South Bay Salt Works, Bike Rides along the Strand (strip of land connecting Coronado Island to Mainland).
