Our Downtown San Diego bike tour will take you through the best sites of the Embarcadero, Seaport Village, Gaslamp, and Little Italy in one day. Learn about the history of this port city while you take in views of the Bay as we ride along the harbor.
Meet at 1355 North Harbor Drive to pick up your bike and meet your guide. Your guide will lead you along the Embarcadero and show you the famous Urban Trees; an interesting art exhibit of hand-made sculptures along the waterfront. Feel free to take pictures of the “trees” or the water vessels of the Maritime Museum and the iconic U.S.S. Midway as we head toward Sea Port Village.
You will ride around Sea Port Village and through the park where you will see kites soaring in the sky, horse drawn carriages, and a perfect view of the Coronado Bridge. As we pass the Convention Center, you will learn how its location was where the first U.S. wharf was built for ships sailing around Cape Horn and the Panama Canal.
Your tour will then proceed to the beautiful Petco Park, home to the San Diego Padres. Your guide will lead you into the park so you get a perfect view of how San Diego incorporated historic buildings into the architecture of the stadium and restaurants surrounding it. The tour continues back toward the North West side of Downtown to the quaint neighborhood of Little Italy.
Once in Little Italy, your guide will take you through the streets that were once home to the Italian mafia. You will stop at a local Caffe to enjoy either an Italian pastry or a hand-made gelato. You will then cruise through the rest of Little Italy as you take in the aroma of Italian food and beautiful Italian murals throughout the neighborhood just before heading back to our original starting point.
