Father’s Day will be here before you know it, and now is as good a time as any to start planning a fun-filled day for Dad. Sunday, June 16th is the special day (its ok, I just had to look it up too) and there are so many ways to celebrate with dad this year! Whether your Dad is the adventurous type, the sports fan, or the guy who just wants to grab a cold beer, San Diego has something for every Dad. This is why we have come up with a list of the top 4 things to do with dad this Father’s Day!

1) Join us on one of our lifestyle tours and let Dad enjoy some food and drinks while learning something new about San Diego! Whether its Brothels, Bites, and Booze in the Gaslamp Quarter or Tequila, Tacos, and Tombstones in Old Town, Dad is sure to enjoy himself along with So Diego Tours. 2) With summer right around the corner and baseball season in full swing, Petco Park is a great place to take the sports fan Father! Not only can you catch the home game on Father’s day, but you can also do something unique for dad by taking him on the behind the scenes tour of the stadium. Check out our previous blog called “Petco Stadium Tour: Go Behind the Scenes at Petco Park” for all the details! (Petco Park Blog)

3) Balboa Park is another great location to take Dad for Father’s Day. With 17 museums, IMAX Theatrethe Zoo, and gardens and attractions galore, spending the day with Dad here is sure to be packed with activities. You can even catch one of the IMAX movies at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center such as “To the Arctic,” “ Cosmic Collisions,” and “Rocky Mountain Express.” The best part is, if you buy a ticket to an IMAX movie you get the rest of the day free to enjoy the science center! Check out ticket prices here!

4) You can never go wrong with spending the day at the beach in San Diego. So this year Beach Cruisingwhy not rent some bikes and beach cruise with Dad! The boardwalk from Pacific Beach to Mission Beach is an easy ride with plenty to see along the way as well as places to stop and grab some food and drinks. Wavehouse in Misison Beach is a top spot to eat some lunch while watching people take on the wave machine! If you’re feeling really adventurous maybe you even want to ride all the way to Ocean Beach! We’ll leave that part up to you. Bicycle Discovery in Pacific Beach will rent you a bike for $25 for the whole day, or if you really want some bonding time with Dad perhaps you want to rent a tandem bike for $25 for four hours. Check out the full pricing list here.

Whatever you decide to do with Dad this Father’s day make it memorable by doing something special for Dad!
