“I attended the Brothels, Bites and Booze Tour.
This tour was GREAT! Everything was perfect! I have attended 3 other Bite Tours, (Gaslamp/Little Itlay, North Park and La Jolla) and Brothels, Bites and Booze Tour out shined all three!
The tour consists of entertaining and risque history you never would expect as you travel to 5 Restaurants to taste both food and drinks. Our Tour guide, Amanda was very nice and knowledgeable and made our tour quite enjoyable and comfortable (even in the rain)! The food portions are very generous and by the end of the tour you are pleasantly full (no need to order food from the restaurants like other tours I’ve been on). The restaurants are unique and at each are given a different tasty treat from the other. Some of the restaurants were Hidden Gems, although I have lived in San Diego for 2 years I have never heard or seen 2 of the restaurants we went to but I will be sure to go back! You also are served small samples of alcohol at most restaurants which is just an added bonus to the fun and interesting tour…”

“Brothels, Bites and Booze! This tour 100% lived up to it’s name. I’ve lived in San Diego a few years and now consider myself a local but man ohhhh man did I learn a lot on this fun boozy tour. We started off the afternoon with a quick history lesson (complete with some pretty funny stories of San Diego during the more “interesting” times) and then off we went to enjoy lamb sliders and cocktails (included in tour). We were already stuffed! At the the next joint we sipped on FIVE tasters of beer (included) so now we’re full and quite tipsy. Our tour guide, Bianca, shared tale after tale of the people and the buildings that made up the “brothel” era of the downtown area. A quick stop for some Mexican food (included) for those of us who weren’t already stuffed and then on to dessert (ALSO included).
Our small group had a fabulous time and the value is fantastic. Locals and visitors alike would do themselves a favor by checking out So Diego Tours…I can’t wait to check out their tour of Old Town – Tequila, Tacos and Tombstones.”

“I really enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it! it is a great way to visit the Old Town in San Diego and learn a bit more about the birthplace of California. Our guide Michelle was lovely. We had some great tacos and tequilas, going from one restaurant to another. It was a small group of nice people and the atmosphere in the restaurants were very cheerful.”

“Food tours are an excellent way to learn about local history, culture and to meet a diverse population of people! This one was no exception. We had Natalie for a Tour Guide and she was wonderful. We made 4 stops throughout the Gaslamp district – all of the places were friendly and excited to share their food and drink with the tour. Natalie was well informed about the history of San Diego and the Gaslamp district – quite a sordid past!”

“My wife and I took this tour on our first evening in San Diego. The tour guide was fun and knowledgeable about local history and current trends. The tour covered a fascinating range of restaurant tastes, some interesting and inoffensive history, cool architectural points of interest, and we met some really neat people from other parts of the world. And my wife and I were quite satisfied with the amount of food and drinks offered over the 3 hours. Not only was it a great orientation to the Gaslamp Quarter, it gave us great eating spots to visit over the rest of our trip and made me feel really comfortable about exploring San Diego in more detail. Overall, money well spent!”

“Cassandra was our guide and she took us to three venues for wine tasting and small bites. We learned a bit about the revitalization of the Gaslamp District and the architecture. The wine tasting venues were very nice and were in interesting areas of the Gaslamp quarter. Cassandra was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The places we did the wine tasting were well appointed, the employees friendly and the food samples exceptional. In fact the last venue went to (Operetta Cafe) for wine tasting we stayed for dinner, which was also excellent.”
