O.B. is what you’d expect from a California beach town in the 1970’s. A hip, relaxed vibe where no shoes and no shirts are no big deal. You wont the get a yuppie scene of flashy sports cars, fancy clothing stores, or luxury restaurants here, instead you’ll find surfers, skaters, dreadlocks, tie died fabrics, and plenty of BEER. Another surprising element of O.B. are the quirky vintage and antique shops that line Newport Ave. – the main drag. O.B. also boasts gnarly waves and the longest concrete fishing pier on the West Coast, so whether you want to watch locals catching waves or fish, you’ll be entertained!
On the tour, your guide will meet you at the beach, just north of the Pier. You’ll be enlightened with the history of the neighborhood as she points out unique elements of the area. You’ll then start your walk to the first brewery. Throughout the tour, you will taste 4 beers at each brewery with a thorough explanation by the tasting room managers at 3 unique breweries. You’ll taste extremely unique beers with unassuming flavors and textures. At one of the breweries, your guide will bring you each a half (or whole) burger from the famous Hodad’s – a classic burger joint made famous by Guy Fieri from the popular TV show; Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.
